Feeling Vertiginous

"Vertiginous" is one of my favourite words. I was very much looking forward to using it next weekend, when we will be celebrating Andy Orme's birthday at the top of the massive Blackpool rollercoaster. However, it is actually an extremely unpleasant sensation when your feet are on the ground and it won't stop. Ever since I arrived in Amsterdam, I've felt as though I were on a boat. I assumed that it were because I was. My middle ear is apparently unaware that I am no longer afloat, and is continuing to make me feel as if I'm sliding off the surface of the planet. I know, I know; some people pay good money to feel like this, in fact I have done so myself on many occasions, but now PLEASE MAKE IT STOP...

Amsterdam Ahoy

I have just spent a gorgeous, relaxing bank holiday weekend in Amsterdam. Slippery Matt & Jonnie B. treated Mouse & I to a well needed break away from the hustle & bustle of London. We had a wonderful tranquil time, most of which was spent chilling on the canal and eating delicious food. We stayed about 25 minutes tram ride south of town, on a beautiful housebout on the canal. As I am officially a lightweight nowadays, I was totally poleaxed from the moment I arrived until just about now. I managed to avoid most of the usual Dam activities and spent a great deal of the weekend feeding the moorhens, ducks and a fabulous swan with bread and crispy croutons. Techno Terrorist in town

The Techno Terrorist aka Sped came to pay us a visit in HaLoLaNd. It was great to see him again and we had a fab night. Starting with deep house from Mouse (covering for WeEfY 23 whilst he's colouring himself orange in Minorca). Next up was Steven Black playing his sexy tribal beats. Finally, we ended up in the usual Halo Hardstyle place with a live rendition of the new Hard On 2nd birthday party mix. We also had the pleasure of the company of Dr Mu, Scottie, Mo and Slippery Matt. It's such a shame one has to get up early on Tuesdays :( We would have loved to play on all night. After the usual "red light fever" angst, I've finally mixed the Hard On CD for our 2nd birthday party on 17th September. I'll give you a clue: it is quite hard ;) There will also be free CDs from Hugo'sland and one of the backroom DJs for the first 100 people through the door on the night, so come early.

Went to Blue @ Fire with Adam & heard Trevor Rockliffe play some gorgeous intelligent techno. What a lovely refreshing change. I was sorry to leave, but a long journey awaits in the morning, so I'd better get some ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzs

At last, I have caught up with photographer Mark Watts. He snapped me at the very last Trade @ Turnmills and the fabulous pic appeared in QX that very week.
